About this event

With “The Producers,” Hollywood legend Mel Brooks created a pitch-black satire of show business and the Hitler cult for Broadway, showered with Tony Awards. For Brooks, the question of whether it is permissible to laugh about Hitler does not arise—laughter, for him, is also “a cry of protest against death.” The Theater Lübeck production is directed by Thomas Weber-Schallauer, with set design by Stefan Rieckhoff and costumes by Susana Mendoza. Choreography is by Kati Heidebrecht, and musical direction is by Nathan Bas.
