About this event

Christian Thielemann and the Staatskapelle Berlin bring an all-Richard Strauss program to Frankfurt, pairing the intimate radiance of the Four Last Songs with the sweeping, cinematic canvas of An Alpine Symphony. Renowned for his masterful command of color and architecture, Thielemann views Strauss as a modern voice whose music invites us to look behind the scenes and read between the lines. Joining the orchestra is Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund, celebrated for her affinity with Strauss’s vocal writing and recent acclaimed collaborations with Thielemann in Berlin and Vienna. She highlights how Strauss’s soprano lines intertwine language and melody, making them uniquely rewarding to sing.
