About this event

Idilio presents a vibrant program linking three distinct sound worlds of the 20th century. The evening opens with Leonard Bernstein’s famous Overture to Candide, overflowing with theatrical ingenuity and brilliant energy. Next, Uruguayan clarinetist Gervasio Tarragona appears as soloist in Aaron Copland’s Clarinet Concerto, a work of intimate lyricism that blends jazz echoes with the expansive voice of the American composer. The performance is anchored by the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (OSSODRE) under the baton of Ligia Amadio. The concert takes place in Sala Eduardo Fabini, the country’s largest symphonic hall, with capacity for up to 1,885 spectators and a state-of-the-art audio system designed specifically for the Auditorio Nacional.
