Inspired by William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Antoine Jully creates his own version of the stirring story of the two young lovers, Romeo and Juliet. In his creation, he not only focuses on perhaps the most famous couple in world literature but also explores other pairings and forms of love. The production harnesses Sergei Prokofiev’s distinctive score—both lyrical and dramatic—to bring sweeping ball scenes and intimate duets to the stage.
