Jonathan Tetelman – Opéra De Monte-Carlo, Monaco

About this event

Praised by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung for an “intense, inescapable euphony — warmly grounded, full-bodied, yet admirably elegant and supple,” Chilean-born, New Jersey–raised tenor Jonathan Tetelman (b. 1988) first trained as a baritone at the Manhattan School of Music before retraining as a tenor at the Mannes School of Music. Following the example of Ramón Vinay, Carlo Bergonzi, James King, and Plácido Domingo, this transition helped shape the spinto color and flexibility that define his sound. Since his 2018 debut in Puccini’s La bohème at the Tanglewood Festival, he has rapidly emerged as a leading tenor, acclaimed for ardent portrayals of romantic heroes across Puccini, Verdi, and the verismo repertoire. This Monte-Carlo gala recital showcases the breadth of his artistry in partnership with pianist James Vaughan.
