The Los Angeles Philharmonic presents a special Casual Friday concert featuring a condensed, no-intermission program and an onstage conversation with the artists. After the performance and discussion, attendees are invited to an after-party in BP Hall to mingle with orchestra members and enjoy complimentary beer tastings. The evening bridges contemporary and Romantic eras: it opens with Betsy Jolas’s colorful, jazz-infused percussive work Latest, programmed in celebration of her 100th birthday year in 2026. The centerpiece is Brahms’s symphony-scale Second Piano Concerto, whose balance between piano and orchestra showcases both intimacy and bravura—music that soloist Leif Ove Andsnes calls “glorious and happy.”
