About this event
“The Great” is the third concert in the Slovenian Philharmonic’s Philharmonic Classics (FKK) subscription for the 2026/2027 season. The Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Heinz Holliger, is joined by violinist Ilya Gringolts. The program brings together late-discovered masterpieces: Mendelssohn’s The Hebrides Overture, Schumann’s Violin Concerto in D minor, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C major “The Great,” whose posthumous Leipzig premiere was arranged by Robert Schumann and conducted by Felix Mendelssohn. Approximate duration 1 hour 30 minutes including intermission. Concerts take place in Gallus Hall, Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana.
