About this event

Yellow Barn Showcase Day presents a compelling 70-minute chamber program without interval, pairing György Ligeti’s late-20th-century rhythmic experimentation with Olivier Messiaen’s profound spiritual vision. The concert contrasts Ligeti’s intricate polyrhythms and shimmering textures with the meditative expansiveness of Messiaen, highlighting two landmark works from different historical moments. A seven-artist lineup—four pianists alongside clarinet, violin, and cello—underscores the collaborative ethos and exacting artistry associated with Yellow Barn. The uninterrupted format invites concentrated listening, framing both works as a single, immersive musical journey.
