Part of Wigmore Hall’s Voices of Today 125th Anniversary Commissions in the 2026/27 Season, this lunchtime concert focuses on contemporary vocal and chamber works. It features Patricia Alessandrini’s intricate sound sculptures, which draw on a seemingly unlimited palette of colours and textures across acoustic and electronic means. The American composer and sound artist, a student of Tristan Murail and Thea Musgrave, is represented by two works, including a major new commission supported by the Marchus Trust and the Wigmore Hall Endowment Fund. These are set alongside the restless energy of Beat Furrer’s 1998–99 Aria and Eda Er’s Happily Ever After.
