About this event
This concert production is a dedicated showcase of the works of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, a composer who built upon the legacy of his father, Johann Sebastian Bach, to create music of remarkable originality and spirit. The performance brings together leading period-instrument specialists to explore the dynamic and often turbulent emotional landscapes characteristic of CPE Bach's style. The artistic vision centers on the authentic historical performance practice of the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, joined by Mahan Esfahani, a renowned champion of Emanuel Bach’s music. The staging of the concert highlights the contrasting and complementary textures of historical keyboard instruments, specifically pairing the harpsichord and the fortepiano in a live acoustic setting.
