This solo piano recital is part of the Royal Academy of Music Piano Series for the 2026/27 Season. The performance features Sherri Lun, a 2025/26 Kirckman Artist who is completing her Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music. The programme’s thematic thread draws on the title Alexander Scriabin gave to his large-scale Third Sonata, États d’âme – states of the soul. The journey begins with Beethoven’s path toward transcendence in his penultimate sonata, passes through Szymanowski’s colours of seduction and fantasy in ‘Don Juan’, and culminates in Scriabin’s masterwork. Approximate duration: one hour without interval.
