About this event

This concert presents a contemporary reinterpretation of John Coltrane's seminal suite A Love Supreme, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the jazz legend’s birth. After a successful album release and a sold-out release concert earlier in the year, the project moves to DR Koncerthuset’s main Koncertsalen for this special October performance. The DR Big Band’s expansive sound meets the virtuosic harmonica of Mathias Heise, bringing fresh energy to Coltrane’s spiritual and rhythmically driven universe through powerful grooves, lush brass textures, and high-octane improvisation.
