About this event
Guillermo García Calvo leads the Franz Schubert Filharmonia in his third collaboration with the orchestra. The program pairs Shostakovich’s searing Chamber Symphony, op. 110a with Mozart’s timeless Requiem, K. 626. The concert opens by establishing a powerful emotional landscape through Shostakovich’s work, then moves into Mozart’s masterwork for chorus, soloists, and orchestra. The Cor Madrigal joins a quartet of refined vocal soloists to illuminate the spiritual and dramatic dimensions of the Requiem. Together, they promise an evening of deep emotion and musical contemplation in the Palau de la Música Catalana.
