Giuseppe Verdi’s monumental Requiem is performed by the DR Symfoniorkestret under Chief Conductor Fabio Luisi. Renowned for his profound Verdi interpretations, Luisi describes conducting the work as a personal purification through its visceral visions of heaven and hell. The orchestra is joined by a powerful choral force that unites the DR Koncertkoret with the guest ensemble BBC Singers. Part of the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday series, each concert is preceded by the free “Mød Musikken” (Meet the Music) talk—25 minutes beginning one hour before the concert in the Koncertsalen with a P2 host and a featured guest.
