Directed by Elena Maria Artisi with stage and costume design by Mirjam Miller, this production reunites the creative duo after their acclaimed Lucia di Lammermoor at Theater Altenburg Gera. Their work probes social grievances and the personal tragedies that follow. Here, they focus on the intimate human drama at the heart of La Traviata: the yearning for love and eternal youth set against the relentless decline of the body and a merciless society. The staging forms part of the theater’s series “Es schlug mein Herz” (My Heart Beat).
