About this event
This Boston Symphony Orchestra production centers on the U.S. premiere of a new piano concerto by Spanish composer Francisco Coll. Co-commissioned by the BSO alongside the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the concerto received its world premiere in spring 2026 under Simon Rattle. Coll, a former protégé of Thomas Adès, is recognized for music of great energy and sonic imagination. Music Director Andris Nelsons frames the premiere with two Beethoven favorites: the dramatic Coriolan Overture and the exuberant Symphony No. 7, creating a dialogue between the contemporary concerto and the classical canon.
