Conceived by Laure Grandjean for the 2026 semicentennial of André Malraux’s passing, Malraux Gen Z is a theatrical creation that places today’s youth in direct dialogue with the historical figure. Presented by Madeloc Théâtre in partnership with the Amitiés Internationales André Malraux and Théâtre Douze, the staging uses the Panthéon as a liminal space where eras intersect. By setting the Foucault pendulum in motion as a narrative device, time fractures and historical figures reappear, contrasting two distinct phases of Malraux’s life—the young militant and the established statesman. With a blend of tension, humor, and poetic escapes, the production questions modern engagement, collective action, and the legacy of resistance in an uncertain world.
