This concert highlights two masterpieces by the genius from Salzburg, exploring the inherent contrast between shadow and light in Mozart’s music. The first half features the Fifth Violin Concerto, a work that demands extraordinary technique and refinement from the soloist to honor its harmonic richness and stylistic ingenuity. The guest soloist, French violinist Eva Zavaro, is renowned for playing "from the heart" and for her artistic mission to "tell stories and move audiences." The second half dives into the gripping rhythms of the Symphony No. 25. Composed when Mozart was just 17, this youthful work is striking for a harmonic wealth far beyond his years. The dramatic intensity of its opening movement is famous for its use by director Miloš Forman in the film Amadeus.
