About this event
Following tradition, the South Denmark Philharmonic performs one of the great oratorios in collaboration with the Flensburger Bach-Chor and the Symphonischer Chor Hamburg, under the direction of Matthias Janz. For this production, the ensemble presents Joseph Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten (The Seasons). The work is a tribute to nature and rural life. Based on English poems by James Thomson, the oratorio portrays the four seasons through lyrical landscapes, rural activities, and festive holidays. The musical scope ranges from stormy choral movements to delicate birdsong. Note: For the Hamburg date, the start time is to be confirmed due to conflicting listings (18:00 vs 20:00).
