Anne Nguyen revives in Massy this march for eight poppers, an emblematic show by Compagnie par Terre created in 2012. PROMENADE OBLIGATOIRE is an uninterrupted crossing of the stage following the arrow of time for eight dancers specializing in popping, an explosive vocabulary of locks, isolations and dissociations. From compact mass to molecular assemblies, from ideal order with the look of a military parade to differentiation, the dancers are immersed in a succession of evanescent states. In this living timeline where humankind alternately struggles against determinism and against its own confinement, the hip-hop gesture, deconstructed and performed in profile, becomes mesmerizing. Set to an original electronic score with industrial sonorities, PROMENADE OBLIGATOIRE reflects on the different possible states of “being together” in a society constantly in motion.
