About this event
On October 18, 2026, multi-award-winning composer and cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir will take the stage at the Oslo Opera House for a special concert evening. The performance celebrates 20 years of her creative output with the launch of a new symphonic program. Guðnadóttir, known for her ability to merge intimate, organic sounds with sweeping emotional power, will perform on the cello, which remains at the core of her sonic language. The concert brings together Guðnadóttir and members of the Norwegian National Opera Orchestra, with a bespoke lighting design by Theresa Baumgartner that complements the layered sonic landscapes guiding the audience through darkness and light. Set on the Opera House’s Main Stage, the evening offers a rare opportunity to experience the Academy Award-winning composer’s cinematic sound art, experimental pieces, and classical arrangements in a large-scale live setting.
