Grammy-winning jazz luminaries Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves come together to celebrate the timeless ballads of John Coltrane. This special event aligns with “Coltrane 100,” a global, year-long centennial celebration of Coltrane’s birth in September 2026, recognizing his lasting impact as a saxophonist, bandleader, and composer. At the heart of the evening’s artistic vision is the landmark 1963 recording by John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman, often described as a masterwork of tenderness and restraint. Presented as part of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra’s Powell Hall Presents series, the concert showcases the beauty and acoustics of Powell Hall in a presenter-led format. The SLSO does not perform in this concert; instead, it is presented in partnership with The Sheldon Concert Hall and Galleries. Additional artists and repertoire are to be announced.
