This concert is part of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s newly renamed 2026/27 Classics Series. The program sets a contemporary atmospheric work alongside Romantic-era favorites, moving from the shimmering soundscape of Kaija Saariaho’s Ciel d’hiver to Edvard Grieg’s beloved Piano Concerto featuring Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki, and concluding with the pastoral warmth of Brahms’s Symphony No. 2. International conducting talent and a celebrated Canadian soloist unite to explore a musical arc that spans from the modern to the late 19th century, presented in the acoustic grandeur of Roy Thomson Hall.
