About this event

Opera Baltimore's 2026–2027 season is themed around "desire and its consequences," exploring three different kinds of wanting across three iconic operas. The season examines what happens when desire wins or loses, whether the stakes are love or survival, and how wanting can drive, blind, or break a person. The season features a mix of formats and venues. The opening production, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, will be fully-staged with an orchestra at Stephens Hall in Towson. The subsequent productions, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Verdi's Macbeth, will be presented as concert operas with piano accompaniment in a more intimate setting at the Engineers Club in Baltimore.
