Lunchtime Recitals – St. Iberius' Church, Wexford

About this event

The Lunchtime Recitals are a cornerstone of the Wexford Festival Opera, held annually to complement the main-stage operatic productions. These events are designed to showcase the vocal talents of the festival's principal singers and emerging artists in an intimate setting. The recitals typically feature a mix of operatic arias, lieder, and art songs, providing a platform for performers to connect closely with the audience outside the grand scale of the primary opera house productions. For the 2026 season, which marks the 75th anniversary of the festival, the recitals continue their tradition of utilizing historic and acoustically significant venues within Wexford. The series is celebrated for its accessibility, offering both devoted opera-goers and local music enthusiasts a chance to experience high-quality vocal performances during the daylight hours. The atmosphere is generally informal yet professional, emphasizing musicality and vocal technique.
