This concert is part of the Moscow Philharmonic’s subscription series “Orchestras of Russia. Masterpieces of World Classics No. 35.” On 8 December 2026 at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, the State Symphony Orchestra of the Chelyabinsk Region led by Alexey Rubin performs Brahms’s Double Concerto in A minor, Op. 102 with soloists Elena Tarosyan (violin) and Alexander Knyazev (cello), followed by Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64. The program juxtaposes the intimate, dialogic virtuosity of Brahms’s late-Romantic concerto with Tchaikovsky’s compelling symphonic drama. Recommended age: 12+.
