About this event

This staging is a recreation of Luc Bondy’s timeless production, originally premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 1992. The production is widely regarded as a directing classic of the late 20th century and has been presented at major houses including the Royal Opera House in London, the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, and La Scala in Milan. The scenic realization for this Vienna revival is directed by Marie-Louise Bischofberger-Bondy. The visual identity of the production features set design by Erich Wonder, with further set design elaboration by Daniela Kerck and Christof Hetzer. The creative team is completed by costume designer Susanne Raschig, choreographer Lucinda Childs, and lighting designer Alexander Koppelmann.
