The 680th Subscription Concert by the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 65th anniversary of the orchestra's founding. The program honors the orchestra’s traditions while embracing new artistic challenges for the future, led by Resident Conductor Kentaro Kawase. A special focus is the celebration of pianist-composer Makoto Ozone’s 65th birthday. Internationally acclaimed for bridging jazz and classical idioms, Ozone brings his distinctive improvisational spirit and structural clarity to the stage. A foyer lobby concert is scheduled 30 minutes before the main performance, offering an intimate prelude to the evening. The production is supported by Hokkaido, Sapporo City, and the Sapporo City Board of Education, with sponsorship from ANA and grants from the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Japan Arts Council.
