About this event

This is a revival of the Greek National Opera Alternative Stage production based on Gaetano Donizetti's Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali. Sofia Paschou adapted the material in collaboration with the team and directs the staging. The production centers on a music-theatre troupe's attempt to mount an opera, with backstage confrontations, vanity and disorder undermining the effort and bringing the production to failure. The design team is Claire Bracewell for sets and costumes and Sofia Alexiadou for lighting. Kharálampos Goyós is credited with musical text adaptation and musical dramaturgy consultation, while Christos Sakellaridis provides voice-over scoring and performs the piano.
