Mikko Franck Conducts Belgian National Orchestra — Piano: Masaya Kamei – Suntory Hall, Tokyo

About this event

This concert is part of the Belgian National Orchestra’s 2026 Japan tour and is the only Tokyo date featuring Program A at Suntory Hall. The orchestra, founded in 1936 and resident at BOZAR in Brussels, appears under the direction of Finnish conductor Mikko Franck, who previously led the ensemble as Music Director and Chief Conductor (2002–2007). Rising Japanese pianist Masaya Kamei joins as soloist, following notable competition successes including first prize at the 2022 Long-Thibaud International Competition and fifth prize at the 2025 Queen Elisabeth Competition. Organized by Tempo Primo with support from the Embassy of Belgium in Japan, the evening presents a traditional symphonic concert format in the acoustic setting of Suntory Hall’s Main Hall.
