About this event
“Bitte mit B” (Three Times B) opens the Komische Oper Berlin’s 2026/27 concert season with the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin conducted by Ádám Fischer at the Konzerthaus Berlin (Großer Saal). The concept plays on the “three great Bs” by presenting Beethoven, Bartók, and Brahms—substituting Bartók for Bach to frame a vivid dialogue between classical, modernist, and late-romantic orchestral idioms. Timed to notable anniversaries, the program marks 100 years since the scandalous Cologne premiere of Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin and 150 years since Brahms’s Symphony No. 1, often dubbed “Beethoven’s Tenth.” A 45-minute introductory talk takes place beforehand in the Beethoven-Saal.
