About this event

Voices of Reflection is a chamber music concert curated by the Taipei Symphony Orchestra as part of their 2026 Chamber Salon series. The production bridges romantic and contemporary eras with four stylistically distinct chamber masterpieces. It places Mahler’s intense early quartet alongside Turina’s Spanish–French fusion to create a dialogue across centuries. After intermission, the focus turns to contemporary and feminist perspectives through Sarah Gibson’s exploration of rhythm and timbre inspired by Gertrude Stein. The concert culminates in Amy Marcy Beach’s passionate and dramatic piano quintet. The artistic vision guides the audience across a landscape where emotion, culture, and time intersect, moving from Austro-German traditions to contemporary female voices.
