Orchestral Symphony Concert
This concert revolves around the period at the end of the 18th century, when the old world is collapsing and a new world order is beginning to emerge. The balance of power is challenged, and the nobility is losing influence to the new bourgeoisie. Vienna is the center of music with Haydn and Mozart as the great heroes, but here too new winds are beginning to blow. And Beethoven is a pioneer: Symphony No. 1 is clearly rooted in the classical tradition, but at the same time has an energy-saturated aesthetic that characterizes the transition to Romanticism. The conductor is the young and extremely promising Misha Shekhtman, who has just won 1st prize in the Ferenz Fricsay International Conducting Competition. Cello soloist in Haydn's cello concerto is 1st solo cellist in the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, Christopher Franzius.
