Opera Colorado’s 2026–27 Student Dress Rehearsals feature two contrasting, fully staged Italian-language productions at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Verdi’s Macbeth unfolds in 11th‑century Scotland, where whispers become prophecy and ambition is stoked by surrounding voices. The staging asks audiences to consider the stories we choose to amplify and our role in the rise and fall of leaders. Mozart’s The School for Lovers (Così fan tutte), set in the Regency era, balances sparkle with sting, exposing the casual harms excused in the name of love, hidden vulnerabilities, and the strength women summon against stacked expectations. Both productions include English and Spanish captions and invite students into an exciting working-rehearsal environment designed to demystify opera and spark curiosity.
