Ghost Cafè is a contemporary chamber opera presented in the 2026 season by Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese. The production is directed by Giuseppe Amato with musical direction by conductor Mirco Reina. The work explores themes of artistic vocation, failure, and destiny through a surreal, contemporary lens, using a small ensemble and intimate staging well suited to Teatro M° Tonino Pardo. The staging centers on a mysterious bar, the "Ghost Cafè," where the boundaries between reality, memory, and the supernatural blur. An archaic 1960s jukebox functions as a magical device to summon figures from the past, allowing the production to fuse different historical and musical eras—from 1940s chansonniers to 1960s opera stars and a modern corporate manager.
