About this event
This Utah Symphony Masterworks concert pairs high romanticism with allegorical and philosophical orchestral works. Guest conductor Domingo Hindoyan leads the orchestra in a three-part program: Gubaidulina’s Fairytale Poem, Bernstein’s Serenade (after Plato’s Symposium) with violin soloist Maria Ioudenitch, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5. The evening traces a thematic journey from self-sacrifice to multidimensional love, ending in the triumphant energy of Tchaikovsky’s finale. A pre-concert chat with guest artists and symphony musicians is offered 45 minutes before curtain in the First Tier Room.
