About this event
The Orchestre national d'Île-de-France spotlights film music with “Hollywood symphonique.” Under the direction of Bastien Stil, the orchestra traces the evolution of the Hollywood symphonic style from its golden-age pioneers to today’s blockbuster sound. The program honors Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Max Steiner, whose epic melodies and innovative scoring shaped the genre, and connects their legacy to modern masters like John Williams, James Horner, and Hans Zimmer. Listeners will hear how the Germanic orchestral language, lyrical themes, and touches of jazz informed decades of cinema. Presented in partnership with Radio Classique, the evening celebrates film music as a core part of the orchestra’s repertoire and a living bridge between classical tradition and the silver screen.
