About this event
Grande Fantaisie is a dedicated chamber music concert presented by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande as part of its 2026–2027 Chamber Music series. The programme is entirely devoted to the chamber works of the French Romantic composer Rita Strohl. The event is created in collaboration with Palazzetto Bru Zane, whose editorial work provided the performance materials. Set in the intimate Salle Franz Liszt at the Conservatoire de musique de Genève, the concert highlights Strohl’s writing for strings and piano. OSR musicians form a core string quartet that expands into a piano quintet for the title piece. The performance offers a focused one-hour exploration of Strohl’s harmonic and melodic language, performed without intermission.
