It is an extraordinary event that the renowned pianist Kalle Randalu will give a concert on his 70th birthday together with musicians from the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO). The festive program is dedicated to two weighty masterpieces of romantic chamber music, providing a dignified weight to the jubilee concert. The performance contrasts the poetic, spring-like youthfulness of Robert Schumann's Piano Quartet in E-flat major—which Clara Schumann praised as "youthful and fresh"—with the deeply dramatic and autumnally wise Piano Quartet No. 2 by Johannes Brahms. The quartet features Kalle Randalu on piano, joined by ERSO string players Triin Ruubel on violin, Sandra Klimaitė on viola, and Theodor Sink on cello. The concert takes place in the cozy and acoustically refined Great Hall (suur saal) of the Tallinn College of Music and Ballet (MUBA), offering an intimate setting for these monumental chamber works.
