About this event
The Opening Gala of the Paris Opera’s dance season gathers the entire company on the stage of the Palais Garnier. The evening begins with the signature Défilé du Ballet, bringing together the students of the Paris Opera Ballet School, the Junior Ballet, the Corps de Ballet, the First Soloists, and the Étoiles. The Étoiles appear in tutus and tiaras designed by CHANEL. The program then moves into contemporary and neoclassical works: Juliano Nuñes presents his first creation for the Paris Opera, Rings of Saturn, set to music by Samuel Barber. Two additions to the repertoire follow: Vers un pays sage, Jean‑Christophe Maillot’s high-velocity neoclassical tribute to his father, and Busk by Aszure Barton, which deploys expressive, virtuoso language inspired by the world of street performance.
