Steeped in the myths that inspire it, this symphonic program radiates solar energy and explores imaginary forces and vital energies that illuminate the inner world. Designed as a triptych, it bridges contemporary Canadian composition, Romantic virtuosity, and early 20th-century Russian modernism. Rafael Payare leads the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal in a journey from Samy Moussa’s reflective Elysium to the profound lyricism of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, culminating in the blazing orchestral fresco of Stravinsky’s complete The Firebird.
