About this event
This symphonic program marks the debut of British conductor Robin Ticciati with the Bayerisches Staatsorchester. Framing his appearance is a historically resonant pairing of two works composed in the same year, 1898: Jean Sibelius’s King Christian II (Suite) and Richard Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben. Ticciati, known for imaginative programming and stylistic versatility, contrasts a Scandinavian rarity rooted in national identity with a cornerstone of German late Romanticism. The second performance (December 1, 2026) is presented on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Friends of the Nationaltheater in Munich e. V.
