The oldest human art form is coming to the big stage for the 2026 season of Detroit Story Fest. The event invites audiences to experience a brief and piercing look into the soul of the city through diverse storytelling mediums. The format features a multidisciplinary lineup including award-winning journalists and comedians, short film and dance, as well as live music and performance. The theme for the 2026 season is "Villains: stories about what we fear, what we misunderstand, and what we become." The ways in which stories are told during the festival are as diverse as what the stories themselves are about, ranging from true crime to comedy, and politics to poetics.
