The Erlkings • Beat The Silence – Musikverein Wien, Vienna

About this event

For over a decade, The Erlkings have been building a bridge between classical art song and modern singer‑songwriter sounds. In this inclusive concert, songs by Schubert, Schumann, and other masters are translated into English and reimagined with voice, guitar, cello, tuba, percussion, and vibraphone to give familiar music a fresh glow. Designed for young people and adults alike, the program creates vivid entry points into the world of the Lied. A defining feature of this Musikverein edition is its comprehensive accessibility. The concert is created to be experienced by hearing and hearing‑impaired audiences alike, featuring live sign language poetry (Gebärdenpoesie) that turns music into movement and image. All spoken moderation is interpreted into sign language, and the Brahms Hall is equipped with an inductive hearing loop to provide clear sound for hearing‑aid users.
