About this event
This concert is a featured event of the 2026/2027 season at the Musikverein in Vienna, presented by the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Wien. It appears in two series: the "Franz-Welser-Möst-Zyklus" and "Künstler im Fokus: Franz Welser-Möst." The Cleveland Orchestra performs under the direction of its Music Director, Franz Welser-Möst, continuing a long-standing artistic partnership dating back to 2002. The program showcases the ensemble in the historic Großer Saal, reflecting the Orchestra’s notable connection to the Musikverein, where it previously established the first residency by an American orchestra. The evening features Liszt’s Orpheus, Martinů’s Symphony No. 2, and Brahms’s Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73.
