Pirates! The Penzance Musical – Palace Theatre, Manchester

About this event

Pirates! The Penzance Musical is a bold, genre-blending reimagining of the classic Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. The production docks the pirates in New Orleans, infusing Sullivan’s score with jazz, blues, and Caribbean rhythms while preserving Gilbert’s whip-smart wit. Developed as a city-wide co-production with CAPA, the staging embraces a French Quarter flair and unites opera, musical theatre, and jazz into a high-energy, collaborative event designed for large-scale, dynamic audiences.
