A moderated family concert built around a musical retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Snow Queen. The event combines the narrated or presented story with chamber music drawn from Edvard Grieg’s String Quartet in G minor, Op. 27. The format is described as a musical story based on Andersen’s fairy tale. The musical forces are two violins, viola and cello: Hwa-Won Rimmer and Jing Wen-Siefert play violin, Jean-Christophe Garzia plays viola, and Rahel Krämer plays cello. Carolina Nees serves as moderator. The event is presented by the SWR Symphonieorchester and takes place twice on the same day at SWR Studio Freiburg.
