About this event

Lieben Sie Schumann is a moderated concert ("Erklärt. Erlebt!") that explores Robert Schumann’s Third Symphony, the famous "Rhenish." Composed in Düsseldorf in the autumn of 1850 during a brief, happy period in the composer’s life, the symphony shines with radiant splendor and an expansive E-flat major lyricism that flows through the entire orchestra. The program examines the work’s exuberant character and the archaic, mysterious dignity of its fourth movement, marked "Feierlich" (stately). Providing vivid context and illuminating insights, moderator Albert Hosp and conductor Ana María Patiño-Osorio guide the audience through the score together with the Tonkünstler-Orchester. Designed as an immersive, educational experience, the concert runs continuously for about 90 minutes without an intermission.
