Vivaldi (chamber Series K4) – The Professed House, Prague

About this event

The performance takes place at The Professed House, a historic Baroque building in Prague's Lesser Town. Originally built for the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) between 1674 and 1691, the building houses a beautiful Baroque refectory that is now utilized for chamber concerts. The concert program highlights the legendary friendship between Antonio Vivaldi and Count Wenzel Morzin, a Czech nobleman who owned the Vrchlabí Estate and Morzin Palace in Prague's Lesser Town. Vivaldi, though based in Venice, served as the maestro di cappella for Morzin's excellent professional orchestra from afar. Vivaldi dedicated his most famous work, The Four Seasons, to the Count. This performance marks the first time this celebrated cycle will be performed within the Prague Philharmonia's Chamber Music Series.
