World Ballet Company’s The Nutcracker is a vibrant, Broadway-caliber holiday production designed as a visual spectacle. It features a multinational cast of 40 professional dancers, more than 150 hand-crafted costumes, and exquisite hand-painted sets. Rooted in Lev Ivanov’s classical tradition and freshly updated by choreographer George Birkadze, the staging balances heritage with contemporary flair. Design by Sergey Novikov and costumes by Sonya Vartanyan amplify the storybook wonder, creating bold, larger-than-life characters. With an inclusive, family-friendly approach and a runtime of about 1 hour 40 minutes including a 20-minute intermission, the production welcomes both ballet newcomers and devoted fans.
